Jeffrey A. Roberts is executive director of the Colorado Freedom of Information Coalition, where he works on government transparency, open records and open meetings issues across Colorado.

Before joining CFOIC in July 2013, Roberts worked in journalism and public policy. He spent more than two decades at The Denver Post, serving as a reporter, assistant city editor and data journalism specialist on the Post’s projects team. He later spent four years at the University of Denver’s Center for Colorado’s Economic Future.

Earlier in his career, Roberts was a reporter at the News-Press in Fort Myers, Florida. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Northwestern University. He also serves as board president of the National Freedom of Information Coalition.
