Amanda Mountain is president and CEO of Rocky Mountain Public Media. A first-generation college graduate with a master’s degree from the University of Denver in Organizational Leadership and Change Management, she is the first female CEO in RMPM history. Since stepping into the role, she has led major organizational changes, including fully funding and building the Buell Public Media Center, restructuring the organization to be digital-first, launching a multiplatform content strategy, implementing a user-centered operating model and nurturing a diverse, inclusive and equitable culture.

Mountain has more than 25 years of experience in the media business, including work with Freedom Communications and Viacom. She has also worked as a journalist, publishing more than 250 articles for local news outlets on media and the nonprofit sector. She has been named one of Radio Ink’s Most Influential Women in Radio, received an Emmy Award for Overall Excellence and a duPont-Columbia Award for Investigative Journalism, and was admitted into the Sulzberger Fellowship at Columbia Journalism School. She serves as board chair for the Public Television Major Market Group and on PBS’s Digital Marketing Advisory Committee.
